Associate Residency Program Director, OBGYN ProgramLA General HospitalEvelyn Nicole Mitchell, MD, completed her medical degree at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, and her residency training at LAC+USC County Hospital. She serves patients in a private practice setting at Verdugo Hills in Glendale, and at the Keck School of Medicine, USC. She also serves as Associate Residency Program Director of the OBGYN program while teaching and supervising residents at LA General Hospital.
Dr. Mitchell’s academic and research interests include increasing the recruitment and retention of underrepresented providers and addressing healthcare disparities that exist in OBGYN care, including among African American, LatinX, and the LGBTQIA+ patient population. She provides trans-affirming care for pregnant patients in addition to patients seeking routine GYN care and surgery. She serves as faculty director of the OBGYN Diversity & Inclusion Program targeted toward these efforts.
